Angry Video Game Nerd Season 9 James Rolfe Mike Matei Unrated

Starting with a couple of humorous rants against a pair of Nintendo games, the Angry Video Game Nerd and his home website, Cinemassacre, has become an internet phenomenon. The AVGN plays the NES game Friday the 13th based on the horror movie. But, just like in the games that the nerd finds himself tirelessly trudging through, you'll come across many reasons to swear like a sailor. I like his movie reviews, but not his video game glitches.

In Jan 2012, Mike Matei released a video showing off Minecraft : Pocket Edition This is another one of those videos that is being monitored by Mike. This is the first review of 32X games, and the last as of now. Except, when we do it for AVGN, we sit there with a notepad and write down time codes for specific parts of the game where something funny stands out,” says Matei in regards to the James & Mike Mondays.

Nearly a decade after the series' humble inception, James Rolfe's frequently sailor-mouthed alter-ego is still spreading influence. Together with Pat the NES Punk, the Angry Video Game Nerd has collaboratively hosted Cinemassacre's yearly NES marathon; a charity event to raise money for children's hospitals.

The AVGN reviews the Sega CD system and the games Ground Zero: Texas, Slam City with Scottie Pippen, Double Switch, Night Trap, Corpse Killer, Time Gal, Lethal Enforcers, The Adventures of Willy Beamish, Road Avenger, Jurassic Park, Prize Fighter, and many more.

On May 11th, 2012, Matei uploaded "Minecraft with Gadget," a video in which he and an animated version of Inspector Gadget, voiced by Matei, reviewed the IOS port of Minecraft In the video, Inspector Gadget has trouble pronouncing the name of the game, eventually calling it "Minecrapap He repeated the name several times during the video, eventually repeating "I love to build brown bricks with mine crap." This spawned the Brown Bricks meme.

Him and James have their own series, James and Mike Mondays , where they review various types of video games. Years later, we were working on an AVGN episode called Game Glitches”. Sorry, no info about the next episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd is available yet.

I'm sure someone mentioned this already but I think the reason why Mega Man's suit color changes with a special weapon is that the NES can only output so many colors on the screen at the same time. The AVGN reviews Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout (NES). Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie is finally wrapping up. So after that's done its theatrical run, it'll be nice for James and I to be able to focus more on web content again.

James Rolfe's first videos were intended as "just a joke", with no intentions of making them public, showing them only to his friends. When the actual Nerd reviewed such a game in AVGN Games, he didn't know who Mike was. I love horror films and getting to edit all those reviews helps me learn so much more about them than I normally would by just watching them for enjoyment.

Looking back, I'm glad I did start doing my own videos during that time frame. Mike Matei On July 17 of the same year, during ScrewAttack's annual SGC convention, Freakzone announced a sequel, Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation, originally due for release in Winter 2015, but was delayed to March 29, 2016.

The AVGN reviews A Boy and His Blob (NES), The Three Stooges (NES), Home Improvement (SNES), Pit Fighter (SNES), Bubsy 3D (PS1), Spider-Man and Venom Maximum Carnage (SNES). It gives us a chance to play and talk about a lot of games that wouldn't be appropriate for the Nerd to review.
